Charlie Apicella and Iron City
CHARLIE APICELLA and IRON CITY are keeping the flame alive in the legacy of the funky organ trio. The release of their second CD, "Sparks," features saxophonist STEVEN RILEY and master violinist JOHN BLAKE, Jr., and is produced by DAVE STRYKER.
With their soulful retro sound, IRON CITY's mission is to keep the people's feet tappin', heads bobbin', and groove, groove, groove! Powered by the compelling original tunes of guitarist Apicella, IRON CITY strives to break new ground while also drawing inspiration from the true masters of the groove: Grant Green, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Lou Donaldson, Michael Jackson, and James Brown.
